South River Curling Club struggling to cope with rising hydro costs

SOUTH RIVER — Almaguin’s lone curling club is in trouble.

Officials with the South River Curling Club are concerned, as skyrocketing hydro costs are hampering their ability to keep the facility operational.

“Our hydro bill, it just keeps going up. It is a lot more … a lot,” said club president Penny Dearden. “It is getting to the point where we worry if we can keep going this way and have a viable club for seniors and the kids.”
