POWASSAN – A major winning streak was snapped on Saturday night in Powassan, while another streak was extended.
The Voodoos continued their dominance over the NOJHL by slipping past the second place Soo Thunderbirds by a score of 5-3, ending the Soo’s respectable 10-game winning streak.
“Everyone was gunning for this battle of the top two teams. It was a fun game to play. We worked hard out there,” said Powassan forward Tyson Gilmour.
With the victory Powassan (29-3-1) was able to extend their CJHL-leading winning streak to 22 games and improve their record to 16-1-1 on home ice.
